Which is the right 1Malaysia song?
ALMOST a year after the launch of the 1Malaysia song by our Prime Minister, not all Malaysians are familiar with it or its concept.
When we talk about the song, most Malaysians are confused. Worse, some of them are not even aware that there is a 1Malaysia song.
I am also confused as to which is the official 1Malaysia song because I have seen the song sung by Faizal Tahir aired over the television on board the RapidKL bus. But when I attend functions, the 1Malaysia song that they play is different.
Besides that, most Malaysians cannot memorise the lyrics and this happened last week when I attended a convention.
When the national anthem was played, all the participants sang Negaraku with full spirit but when the 1Malaysia song was played, the hall went totally quiet.
The Information, Communication and Culture Ministry should take steps in promoting the 1Malaysia song more aggressively.
Besides that, the Government must inform the public about which is the official song for 1Malaysia.

Banyak lagi lagu-lagu patriotik yang dicipta dahulu telah hilang dan tidak dimainkan lagi kerana perubahan pucuk pimpinan. Lagu-lagu yang sarat dengan perpaduan seperti "Jalur Gemilang" yang saban hari dimainkan semasa Tun M menjadi PM masih segar untuk disiarkan kembali.
Kadangkala rakyat menjadi bingung dan keliru yang mana satu untuk diberi keutamaan.
1Malaysia is an express slogan, there is no serious thinking behind it. It is there because each PM must have theirs own slogan.
ReplyDeleteMalaysians are still confused about the slogan itself, let alone the songs. More explanation is needed.
Never also forget the song "Ku Cari Damai Abadi" by Pak Lah.

It didn't potray at all what he did and what was in the song.
