JASIN: Jasin Wanita Umno refuted an allegation that the wing was boycotting the Merlimau by-election and had closed down its operations room.
Its chief, Zaleha Bujang, who met Barisan Nasional candidate Roslan Ahmad yesterday said it was an opposition tactic to split BN.
"Even though I was not chosen to contest for the seat, I will still remain supportive and loyal to BN.
"The allegation, which I believed was started by the opposition, is not true at all. We did not boycott the campaign nor shut down our operations room," she said in Kampung Chin Chin after a gotong-royong.
Roslan and his wife, Siti Zalifah Omar, were there to visit villagers as part of his campaign.
Zaleha, who was among the seven BN shortlisted candidates to contest for Merlimau constituency seat, said she was assisting Roslan in the campaign. - NST 2/3/2011
